My Review:
Summer, 1962, and Dot Morgan are a winning combination. In The Twist and Shout Murder: A Swinging Sixties Mystery by Teresa Trent summer in Camden, Texas is about to heat up. Dot is in her final semester of secretarial school, her father is running for city council, and cousin, Ellie, is frustrated with life—love life that is. Dot has big plans now that the world is changing and women will have more opportunities. But Dot isn’t prepared for small-town personalities or political families and soon finds herself out maneuvered. Wonderfully paced. I enjoyed the countless sixties details which make it a fun read. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Teresa Trent writes the Piney Woods and the Pecan Bayou Mystery Series from Houston, Texas where she loves the people and even the weather. Teresa includes Danny, a character with Down Syndrome in her Pecan Bayou family and in real life is the mother of an adult son with Down Syndrome/PDD. Creating the character of Danny and all of the other inhabitants of Pecan Bayou has been a joy for her. Even though she lives in the big city, her writing is influenced by all of the interesting people she finds in small towns and the sense of family that is woven through them all.
